As our tradition, CUEGU’s calligraphy class teacher and students will host the “Year of the Snake Fai Chun Roadshow” and give out their handwritten Fai Chun to colleagues – We wish to bring everyone good spirits, good health and the best luck in the Year of the Snake!

CUEGU Chinese Calligraphy Class (Theme: Hui Chun / Red banner DIY): December 2024 to January 2025
Class outline: From copying to running deep , from simple to complex, to understand the evolution of various types of Chinese calligraphy, take their characteristics and turn them into self-creation.
Instructor: Ms. Michelle Chow – A Chinese Calligraphy educator learning the craft for over 10 years, currently studying Chinese Calligraphy theory and research course at CUHK.
Date: December 17, 2024 and January 7, 14 and 21, 2025 (Every Tuesday, 4 sessions) Time: 6:30-8:00pm (1.5 hours) Target participants: CUHK staff Venue: Rm 103, Wong Foo Yuan Building (Chung Chi Campus) Fee: $400/head (member) or $600/head (non-member) | Joining the CUEGU membership (annual fee is $60) can immediately enjoy the fee for members Stationery fee $40 (new students only) Quota: 15 Application deadline: 16 December 2024 (Confirmation email or WhatsApp will be sent to successful applicants)

The CUHK Employee General Union meets with representatives of the University every six months. The Union sets the agenda for the meetings to reflect staff’s views on University policies, requests for information, and suggestions for policy improvements. In the past, the topics of discussion included: the proper name and treatment of instructors, support for disabled staff, and monitoring of the outsourcing system, etc. In the future, we will hold a meeting with the University. Now we will have a meeting with the University on 19 December.

Dance-pop is a popular music genre that is fast-paced music designed to be danceable, with a strong and relaxed beat. Learning pop dance is not only about learning a dancing skill, but also has many other benefits and positive influences. In general, pop-dance can help us build self-confidence, exercise patience and perseverance, and enhance interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, which is good for both physical and mental health. Instructor: Bon Kwong Bon had studied in LA, New York, UK and Japan and has more than 20 years of experience in teaching dance. He also performed for Aaron Kwok in world tour concerts and worked as a choreographer for various international companies and theme parks. He has rich experience in performing, choreographing and teaching. With calendula oil infused with pure olive oil, moisturising shea butter and more, let’s welcome spring by making this golden handmade soap. We will also be teaching a latte effect in the classroom. All CUEGU members are welcome.
